We barely saved our Amerucana from the attack of a red-tailed hawk.
Our limited carpentry skills has not produced a tight and warm habitat. We are seeing leaks all over the coop and damn rodent holes all over the run.
To help with the cold, we installed a cheap timer trigger light inside the coop with a red light bulb. We think it helps. Freya is such a heat hogger though…
Egg production is dropping to almost a halt, but if we get through this winter without losing a chicken…I’d consider it fuckin a success.
